STAR WARS – EPISODE VII [Announcement]: The Cast is Here!

…today marked the announcement of the new cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.
According to StarWars.com, the new actors are: John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Blue Season), Adam Driver (who was previously rumored to play Nightwing), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), and Max von Sydow (Minority Report).
This new cast will join the original Rebel Alliance: Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Kenny Baker (R2D2) in the new film.
Director J.J. Abrams says, “We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”
Directed by J.J. Abrams from a screenplay from both himself and Lawrence Kasdan — with John Williams return as composer — Star Wars: Episode VII opens worldwide on December 18, 2015.
